Small Jobs That Prevent Large Ones

Fixture work is the least dramatic plumbing there is, and it's where a great deal of avoidable damage begins. A slow drip under a vanity soaks a cabinet base for months. A shutoff valve that has seized means the whole house has to be isolated for a five-minute repair. A supply line that has gone brittle lets go without warning and floods a bathroom.

We repair and replace kitchen and bathroom faucets, sinks and basins, shutoff valves, supply lines, drain assemblies, P-traps, toilet fill and flush valves, and outdoor hose bibs. Where a fixture can be sensibly repaired we'll repair it — most drips are a cartridge or a set of seats and springs rather than a new faucet.

In our older Anne Arundel County housing stock there's an extra consideration. Fixtures fitted to decades-old supply are attached to pipe that may not survive being disturbed, particularly galvanized. We check what we're connecting to rather than discovering it the hard way mid-job.

Fixtures and the Water Behind Them

Hard water shortens fixture life noticeably here. Scale builds inside cartridges and aerators, causing the stiff handles and reduced flow that get mistaken for a failing faucet. Where we see a household replacing fixtures unusually often, the underlying answer is frequently a water softener rather than better faucets.

On Kent Island and near-water properties, salt air adds corrosion on exposed fittings and outdoor hose bibs, which is worth accounting for when choosing replacement materials. Getting that choice right is the difference between a fixture that lasts and one that repeats the same failure in three years.

Know the warning signs

When to Call for Faucets, Fixtures & Sinks

A Drip That Won't Stop

A steady drip wastes thousands of gallons a year and, under a cabinet, quietly destroys the base long before anyone notices.

A Shutoff Valve That Won't Turn

Urgent

Seized fixture shutoffs mean every small repair becomes a whole-house shutdown — and an emergency becomes much harder to contain.

Stiff Handles or Weak Flow

Usually scale inside the cartridge or aerator rather than a failed fixture. Often a cheap fix, and a hint about your water.

Damp or Warped Cabinet Base

Urgent

Swelling or discoloration under a sink means water has been escaping for a while. The fixture is the symptom; the cabinet is the cost.

How it works

Straightforward From Call to Cleanup

  1. Call and Talk to a Real Person

Call (410) 268-7191 during office hours and you'll reach a real person — no phone tree. We'll schedule your visit, same day when possible.

  2. Check What's Behind It

We inspect the supply, shutoffs and connections before touching the fixture, because old pipe doesn't always survive being disturbed.

  3. Repair or Replace, Quoted Flat

Most drips are a cartridge, not a new faucet. You get a flat-rate price for whichever route genuinely makes sense.

  4. Fit, Test and Tidy

We fit the work, test under pressure for leaks, and leave the cabinet and countertop as we found them.

Questions?

Faucets, Fixtures & Sinks FAQs

Is a dripping faucet worth fixing?

Yes. A single steady drip wastes thousands of gallons a year, and under a vanity it soaks the cabinet base long before it's visible. It's also usually a cheap repair — a worn cartridge or seat, not a new fixture.

Why won't my shutoff valve turn?

Old multi-turn valves seize when they sit unused for years. It's worth replacing them with quarter-turn ball valves during any fixture work, because a seized shutoff turns every future repair — and every emergency — into a whole-house event.

My new faucet already has weak flow. Why?

Usually debris or scale in the aerator, which cleans out easily. If flow is weak across the whole house it's a different problem — likely pressure or a narrowing supply line, which is a [repiping](/repiping) conversation.

Can you install a fixture I bought myself?

Yes, that's common. We'll tell you before starting if the fixture won't suit your existing plumbing configuration — better to find that out before the old one is off.

Why do my fixtures corrode so fast near the water?

Salt-laden air accelerates corrosion on exposed metal, which is why Stevensville and other near-water properties go through hose bibs and exterior fittings faster. Choosing materials suited to that environment breaks the cycle.
