Will a water softener remove iron from my well water?
Not adequately on its own. Softeners target calcium and magnesium; iron needs its own removal stage. Many Anne Arundel County well properties need both, staged in the correct order, which is why we test rather than assume.
Does softened water taste salty?
No. Ion exchange swaps hardness minerals for a very small amount of sodium — far below what you'd taste, and far below the sodium in most foods. If taste is your main concern, a filtration stage addresses that directly.
How much salt will I go through?
