Please note: office hours are 8:00 to 4:30 Monday–Friday. Any texts sent after business hours or over the weekend will be addressed the following business day. For genuine emergencies outside those hours, call (410) 268-7191 rather than texting — emergency calls are returned as quickly as we can get to them.
Newsletter Archive
Our newsletter goes out through the year with coupons, articles on current issues, and helpful seasonal hints — free to maintenance plan members. Past issues covered winterizing against frozen pipes, spring sump pump checks, water heater flushing, and the water quality questions that come up most across Anne Arundel County.
The Seasonal Rhythm in Anne Arundel County
Most of what the newsletter covers follows the calendar, because plumbing here genuinely does. Winter brings frozen and burst pipes whenever temperatures sit below 20°F for a sustained stretch — homes with exterior walls, attic runs or unheated crawl spaces are most exposed, and insulating those lines in autumn is far cheaper than the repair.
Spring is our heaviest sump pump season. Snow melt and heavy rain raise the water table, and properties near the Severn, Magothy and South River discover the hard way whether their pump still works. Test it before March, not during.
Summer peaks water heater demand and accelerates scale buildup, which is why we push annual flushing before it. Autumn is the right moment for boiler and gas fireplace service — almost every emergency no-heat call we take in January was a fault that would have been visible and cheap in October.
Texting vs Calling
Texting suits non-urgent scheduling — a dripping faucet, a fixture you'd like replaced, a maintenance visit. You get a written record of the appointment and you don't have to be free to talk.
For anything urgent, call. Water escaping faster than you can contain it, sewage entering the house, a total loss of water, or the smell of gas all need a conversation rather than a queued message. Call (410) 268-7191 — see emergency plumbing for what to do before we arrive.
